Dr. Kendyl Tarver is a former college educator, early childhood and elementary teacher, cheer coach, and bus driver. She currently serves as the Director of Kreative Learning Academy, where she is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Dr. Tarver is a native of Phenix City and a proud graduate of Central High School. She earned her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Chattahoochee Valley Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from University of West Alabama. She later earned both an Education Specialist Degree and Doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching from Northcentral University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tarver has taught English Language Learner (ELL) strategies to both children and adults and served in Title I schools for eight years, working with diverse student populations. She also served as the Director of Early Childhood Care and Education at Columbus Technical College, where she taught aspiring teachers, supervised adjunct instructors, and developed partnerships with child care organizations such as Fort Moore Child and Youth Services and Enrichment Services Program, Inc.. In addition, she taught dual enrollment courses to high school students at Chattahoochee County High School.
In her spare time, Dr. Tarver enjoys good food, floral design, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her husband Christopher, daughter Madison, and son Christopher II. She is also an art enthusiast and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc..
Her greatest passion is helping young children build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.
